ABOUT the project

In Spring 2022, I was looking to complete some form of intervention upon an already existing project.

Art Intervention is described as interaction with a previously existing artwork, audience, venue/space or situation

​

For this project, I chose to intervene upon an exhibition titled: Alter Egos | Projected selves. This exhibition was on show at The MET in New York City from November 22nd 2021 to May 1st 2022. The curator of this exhibit was Joyce Frank Menschel, and she wanted to emphasize on how artists use themselves in their work to experiment with the idea of an identity.

With this project, I wanted to add my own modern spin on the idea of personalities represented in art. One way that many in my generation express themselves is through music, and I decided to add a song for some select characters seen in the exhibit. I also wanted to add a sort of spiritual aspect to it, and I have done this by juxtaposing each chosen image to a card in a tarot deck.
